s410 in need of service

Recommended Posts

As stated above my s410 is in dire need of service i'm pretty sure its shooting underpower aswell

18 months old bought from new and probs needs an annual check. Its taken a few knocks and is certainly a well worked gun. Wanting to get it chroned and tweaked if necessary and a full service. Should I take it backto the air arms 'recommended' dealer or will any half decent gunshop do, unless anyone can recommend any one in Bury

st edmunds area of suffolk

Advice gratefully recieved

if its only 18 months old it will have at and if you want to keep it you will need to send it back to air arms,as for power the only way to check is with a chrono.i,ve had an s410 for years now and they dont need much to keep them running sweet,if it goes back to air arms they will check power and probably give you some kind of documentation to show this.good luck on whatever you choose to do bud.

I think a service is recomended bi-anually . Your probably better taking it to a local gunsmith as I think AA are about £80 for a service .If its only 18 months old then it will be anti tamper , which I think a smith will be obliged to re-place after any work is under taken. If on the other hand its only been with you for 18 months then it might be pre AT, in which case its straight forward . Anything your unsure of just ask , Buster

For piece of mind contact air arms & arrange a service with them, if it is only 18mths old it will be anti tamper, you can also tell the age of the gun via the air chamber, as it will be date stamped, (in case you bought it second hand), the other thing regarding power is what pellets you are using hope, what makes you think it's underpowered ?

The reason that I think its underpower is because its zeroed at 15 yds and the highest point of trajectory is 15, and it isnt as accurate as it was (this isnt human error because I comapred a couple of targets one that was when the gun was new and the other recently and they were both shot from sandbags)

I will give the AA dealer (churchills of Dereham) a buzz and see what cost is like and exactly what they will do and might compare with a couple of other dealers

Will keep you posted

Thanks for all the advice
