Mr. Hurd asked the Minister of Agriculture whether the cases of hares dying of myxomatosis in Britain have been investigated and confirmed by his Department. § 20. Major Anstruther-Gray asked the Minister of Agriculture whether his attention has been drawn to the case of a hare contracting myxomatosis; and whether he will have this case investigated and confirmed. Mr. Amory The Veterinary Laboratory at Weybridge has confirmed that the car case of a hare recently found in Northern Ireland was affected with myxomatosis. Mr. Hard Have there been any cases in England, Wales, or Scotland which have been confirmed? Mr. Amory I know of no confirmed cases of myxomatosis in hares other than this one in Northern Ireland, except on the Continent. An extract from parliamentary questions, 1955, not what I read before, but something to be getting on with. I'll keep looking.
