Ford Focus wont start !!!

Recommended Posts

is it turning over faster than normal? snapped belt perhaps?

He drove it home fine though. It could be anything lol, burst fuel pipe allowing air in. Sounds electrical though. I'd be tempted to disconnect the battery, try and get the computer to reset. Just hope you've got the radio code.

when you put the ignition on does the code light go out, (little key) if not then there is no communication between body computer and injection ecu, if it does then it rules out immobiliser problems,

edited to add have you tried the spare key if you have one?

Yes mate, also tried the spare key. Also tried what you said, all the lights go out on the dash when i turn the key on. Thanks anyway.

Modern motors mow have so many sensors it will need putting on a scanner my experience on the focus usual means either camshaft sensor gone or injection pump camshaft is easy to replace it's the sensor on top of the rocker box try that first atb Kev

If I disconnect the battery, will that reset the computer ?, and, theres no smell or sign of any fuel leaks, as you say Kevin, it'll probably need hooking up to something electrical as oposed to the scrap lorry, f****n shed !. Cant complain, its a really good bus (up until now) good job it failed outside the house, i'll have to get green flag cover on it or something just in case.

Thanks all, i;'ll keep trying

if it was a sensor it would more than likely throw up an error and put the eml on, i think its more mechanical fault than electrical.

Looked for a fuel reset / cutoff switch, also looked to see if the stop solenoid is playing up, cant even see the f*****g thing !!, my mechanic mate says he'll have alook later, otherwise, it'll have to be a ford garage phone call and get a diagnostic done on it, life can be a real shitter when you least need it.

Its a diesel, so I hope theres no spark mate !!, or i'm in deep shit.lol

Air lock? :hmm:

Might sound daft but is there deffo fuel in it, and is there enough fuel coming through the pipes? Could be any number of things though.

Just spoke to the ford garage, they want £55 quid to come and recover it, and £65 per hour to hook it up to the computer, thats before they would carry out any work on it ffs. I'll have to check the insurance is up to date and......... see what happens :whistling:

Yes there is fuel in it, it may well have to be bite the bullet or light the rag, its 50 / 50 at the mo, trouble is its a good bus, never had a spot of trouble with it.
