Bootsha 1,306
Came back home yesterday with wife and kids from a day out, about 60 miles or so, no probs. Mrs went to start the car to go shopping today, wont start. Not firing at all, have cracked open the injectors, fuel getting there, but just spinning. Half a tank of juice in it. Tried locking and unlockin with key as thought there may be a problem there, used both doors, bugger all. Has been suggested it may be the imobiliser ??, how the f**k do you imobilise an imobiliser ?? Any Ford fitters out there that could advise me please ?? Hoping there is B
fozzy41 9
Is the engine not turning over at all.? If the engine is turning over then it aint the immobiliser, more likely to be the electronics. You could try a new battery in your key fob as there may not be enough power to disimobilise the immobilisation. fozzy Edited May 30, 2011 by fozzy41

baw 4,360
Is the engine management light on? Looks like a wee engine. Is it a diesel, is the heater plug light flashing?
Bootsha 1,306
No engine management light, diesel, no heat plug flashing. Its turning over fine, just not firing, sounds like an electrical problem, perhaps it is the imobiliser, got the charger on the battery now to top it up a bit.
RossM 8,121
when you put the ignition on does the code light go out, (little key) if not then there is no communication between body computer and injection ecu, if it does then it rules out immobiliser problems, edited to add have you tried the spare key if you have one? Try switching on and off the ignition quickly for a minute, leave it for a couple of minutes, switch on the ignition, give it 10 seconds then fire it up.
