But to be honest mate i dont really think you need that much in any lurcher, a 1/4 is plenty really. With alot of collie you get a great brain, but that great brain can (somtimes) work against it , get a 1/4 collie in the mix and you will be fine Quote Link to post
border lad 1,047
for me the collie xs was easy to train, Fx, and the 1/4 collie x was probably a little stiffer to train, sit, stand, and stay, they all took to retrieving without any problems, and all had very good nose on them, the Deerhound Xs mine were genuine 1/4 deerhound, all nice broken coats, again took commands, much similar, to the 1/4 collie collie, but the deerhound, had a more relaxed, manner, took longer to Maturity, but made handy dogs, the Saluki xs, only take one as a pup, they need a lot of attention, they want to be with you at all times as possible, I have one now just 12 months, and he has only had a couple of rabbits, retrieved to within 10 yards of me, the Saluki x is not the dog for you, if you only feed him, and work him at the weekend, they want work and attention as much as you can give them, and my type of dog they can hunt a field as good as any collie xs, and great recovery rate, ((( but NO heavy hands, Quote Link to post
