Hannah4181 260
I screwed my back up in a horse riding accident when i was 17 . . . . . its fine 98%, but as soon as i get a twinge my Osteopath is on speed dial, they really are excellent and will get you out of pain, most good ones will use acupuncture as well if needs be. SINDASOX 256
A few years ago after driving home from the Midland Game Fair on a Sunday evening i got into the house and only bent down to undo my laces on my boots when i felt a sharp twinge on the right side of my back about half way up, it shook me up a bit, but i didn't think much more of it, there was no real bad pain that evening, i then had a few cans and later on went to bed. When i woke on the monday morning the pain was shocking, i could hardly get out of bed the pain was so bad, it took me forever to go down the stairs to get to the loo and i had to crawl back up the stairs on my hands and knees, i have never had a problem with so much pain before, i couldn't sit up in the chair to eat or nothing and was in bed for over a week, i did eventually go and see a physio, but didn't find it helped much really, he advised me to take regular courses of Ibuprofen at a high dose but even that didn't help. What good advice he did give me though (when it had started to heal) was to start doing a regular stretching routine of the hamstring, quad stretch, lunge stretch, rotation of the spine exercises and also the plank exercise, since then i have done these everyday and havent had any more problems, i realise that everyones back problem is different, but if you are advised to start a stretching or back exercise routine i think that you should try it, if it will stop it coming back, they are a bit of a grind to do everyday, but when i think back to how bad my back was it makes you determined to carry on with them to prevent any more problems. Hope your better soon SINDASOX
Qbgrey 4,159
i went to chiro when my hips, lower back and bolloks were in pain,he beat beat me up but i felt amazing after ,he said to call him later in day if i was in pain due to the first beating and hed unlock me,most physical workers suffer from siatica,or acute muscle tension due to slip disk etc,it even gives me stitch like somethings pushing on ribs/kidneys etc.if left the pain goes into bollocks and i had headaches also which he sorted .had a women do it once but she wasnt strong like a fella a i wasnt much better after.i quite enjoy getin beat i say to chiro see if you can hurt me today,by f..k it makesme eyes water but never shout out, take it like a man . I just thought i was taking a shortcut getting a chiropractor out which was probably more out of desperation than anything else.....think im going to have to accept this aint going to be a quick fix so best to start from scratch. That chiro geezer was talking about a lumbar laminectomy operation whatever that is at one stage which i thought odd considering he hadnt laid a finger on me.....anyway...im already on the case with my gp whos coming out at 2 tomorrow.....so hopefully find out a bit more then, cheers

Does acupuncture really work? My physiotherapist said that it's something I should look at. I got the head kicked off me by a load of lads a couple of years back and they dislocated and broke my shoulder :alcoholic: . Where the break healed it formed as callous which was rubbing around inside the socket and causing me a lot of pain. I've had keyhole surgery on it and while I'm not getting any more pain in my bicep and wrist, I still get a lot of pain in my shoulder when I move it around a lot. Would you say acupuncture is worth it?
