Ramboj96 0
Those paw prints might be a dog? but one was facing a high fence and the other was facing a deep narrow stream and I think the animal that made them was jumping over and across these obstacles plus the ground is very wet and muddy so the claw marks could be for traction plus the photo's do not show the area and terrain or what direction it was traveling but they match what i've seen on the internet and in africa! i'm not claiming to be and expert nor am i trying to start a panic in my local area, the first prints that were found were by 2 8 year old boys learning to spot tracks and they were the size off a mans hand or bigger and had no claw marks shown, I also seen a big black thing traveling parrel to me on a ridge line about 30m from me moving from gorse bush to gorse bush, the national park ranger also seen the same type of print near were the 2 boy's found the first prints but he thought at first he was looking for a cat called a jaguarundi but he said the paws prints were two big for that cat plus the farmers are saying something is spooking their live stock and they have also seen a big long black thing in the fields plus the Garda(police) and the ISPCA are aware of it! I'am on this web site looking for some help to find or track this cat to trap it or needs be kill it! I don't like the thought of a big cat roaming in my area while my 2 year old son plays outside! so if anyone out their has actual experience in tracking, traping or have hunted and killed one of these things before except train spotters I would appreciate any help or knowledge tips that they could give me to deal with this problem! As for u animal lovers or tree huggers I will do my best to trap it and send it to a good home first only if i can!

irishnut 297
most cats walk with claws retracted. however there is exceptions. but sadly not big and black. the cheetah cannot retract its claws, so its prints do have claw marks. but ain't never seen a black cheetah. if you want to catch a big cat i have advise - lure it under a tree, with a skinned rabbit. sit in the tree, catch it using a lasso. and a custom made cat muzzle. tape its feet so it can't scrab you, then put it in the boot of your car. Thanks i like the way u are thinking! it just might work! there is/has been big cats out there in our countryside, and thats as sure as theres shit on a goat. i think they have been captured, and the caputers have been hushed, by covert government means. i know for fact, that soldiers in the north here were told that, when patrolling in the mournes, between newcastle and annalong, if they encountered a big cat, they were to shoot it on sight. why issue official orders for something that doesn't exist.
