Minshaws73 0
As well as making up two traditional 50yrd webs, i am going to make a quickset basket method as well, i will be using hazel wands for the poles so wondered what size they should be. Are they the same size as traditional web pegs or are they longer, as the fiberglass poles on commercially bought quickset nets seem larger ? Also do i attach these with a rubber band over a clover hitch. What is the best size and design for the basket as i will be welding one up for my self, some seem to have the poles on top of the basket and others are sat behind in a hoop, also some of the baskets look huge and bulky so whats the recommended size. Also as i will be working alone i presume it would be awkward and bulky to carry to baskets to my drops, so would i be better with one 4z 100yrd web or two 50 yrd webs or what combination and amount would be best used, this will be for purely netting at night alone. I look forward to your reply,s gents. ATB Quote Link to post

ATB The same poles you use for your traditional net might be ok, Id try for something a little slimmer & longer though, it might be awkward fitting them all on a basket, but worth a try. You can attach them with castration bands, or bands made from a bicycle tyre tube, the length needs to be enough to fit across the basket without falling in. As for the basket, the hoops to hold the poles work better as the net can snag in single uprights too easy - To weld one up yourself, Just copy the standard hoop design & dont make it too big, the small the better. As for 100yrd or 2 x 50's...For night time I would do a 100yrd on its own. But even if you want 2 50's, one basket does the both nets. Quote Link to post
