Regarding 4 minute runs, like Riohog says, some game is stronger than others. I've had dogs capable of picking up a poor hare within seconds, a few turns and a strike. Put the same dog on a top notch,

i think that a dog that rattles hedges after game hasnt done to much lamping as most dog except the fool hardyb learn to presure the thing to turn of the hedges or make good their escape a dog that his crashing hedges is going to get some nasty cuts ive chased a lot of hare pre ban and they to me to only go as fast as the dog chases them just keeping that one step a head some of these saluki croses seem to enjoy the chase and seem to let them run and run only taking when they have got the hare fcked yet others strom them not giving the hare a chance my own dogs just wave as the hare goes past haha its the drive and passion to kill in the dog that determins the lenght of time it takes the dog to catch or stop
