Big Jim101 29
I dont know how much sense this is going to make as im not too sure how to word it but here goes. recently i keep seeing pups up for sale that have many crosses in them eg. grey/bull/whip/collie x grey/whip/bull/saluki/beddy . . . and so on. I have always heard (and read in my highly regarded lurcher books) that when choosing a dogs theres alot of chance in what the pup will turn out like, could go almost all to one breed or another, or that some of the pups will be good and others not so much. whereas with 1st crosses and 3/4 crosses such as collie/grey x whip your almost definatly going to get the characteristics your after. i obviously understand that every dog is different but as a whole how much truth is there to this? when picking a dog with allsorts in is it going to be chance what you get? poacher3161 1,766
Wats the highley regarded lurcher books you are refering too if their wat i think they are they were wrote to promote a certain cross wile at the same time trying to descredit lurchers with multiple crosses wich imho on the ones i have seen and owned have been far more versatile than any 1st or 2nd cross. 2 Quote Link to post
