derekbrown 176 Posted May 29, 2011 Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 (edited) Can anyone tell me what a spainel can offer a hound or what a hound wether it be a beagle, welshhound or any other hound offer a spainel please well lad we use a small pack of springer/beagles and teagles.we don't use pure beagles or harriers because we hunt smallish covers to push out foxes to catch with lurchers.our crossbred dogs would never carry a hunt as far or as well as a pure hound,but we don't want them to.they are very good to try cover and find which is more than can be said for many hounds.if we had pure hounds hunting on for miles we would not be able to try nearly as many covers and we would get less runs for the lurchers and catch less.
