you may be innocent, but like simo says depends who pulls you if they believe you or not,if it was me id take the dogs home then go back for it without them

If a deer is on your permission, isnt it fare game? Probably wrong, just going by what ive been told in the past!

failing that get the deer to write a witness statment saying it tripped an the dog never touched it

What you have done may be prefectly legal but its proving it nowdays, imagine trying to convince the "authorities" if your pulled with a fresh deer and lurcher, depends on who pulls you.....

DONT TALK PXSH,

IF HES GOTTA BLUNDER GUN OFCOURSE HELL BE OKAY.

AND ON PERMISH.

DOG GETS IT AND HE NO2S IT .

NO CASE YOUR HONOUR .

SIMO GET BACK TO THE ENCYCOPEDIAS.:whistling:

if there is terriers and written permission for foxes i suppose it would go in my favour. when beating the deer go everywhere and i cant stop the dog from giving chase

within the eyes of the law you have to be in controle of your dog at all times whitch means your dog shouldent be chaseing deer atall and if it dose and catches then you are teknlay brakeing the law so i would be verry carfeull what you say but if it dose happen as sed take dogs and gun home and go back for deer

hope this helps you

IF i was you I would go to the nearest police station to where the permission is at ask to see the sergeant and explain to him you are controlling vermin on the land etc and then explain to him the problem your encountering with the deer regarding the law! If he favours you get him to print it off and sign it to his name! Job done.

So a shotgun is legal then is it Inspector Morse? As i said it depends who pulls you, a case could be made against if the officer is so inclined.

I'll now return to me encyclopedias and perhaps you should invest in a speak and spell?

I would do what bogger suggested mate. you could get away with having a deer in your vehicle al;ong with a dog but if you get a right twat of a copper it could go the other way not worth taking the risk mate. put a shot in the deer take the dog home and then go back and collect it keep yourself right and they wont have nothing on you

You are not breaking the law by killing the deer if you are not hunting deer. The law regarding hunting with dogs states that there is no such thing as accidental hunting, which means hunting has to be intentional, otherwise it's not hunting, therefore, providing you are legally hunting within the law, ie, using the exemptions for rat and rabbit, which are only exemptions with permission. you are not hunting deer, so any deer killed by accident do not contravene the hunting with dogs act. The question is, are you then allowed to benefit from said accident, most probably not. Having said that a dead animal in law, is reduced into the ownership of the landowner, so I can't see why he cannot gift you the deer if he so wishes, but get it in writing. Mike.
