banjo14 49
i know they have probably been mention on here a lot but has any one used an irish terrier in the make up of a lurcher. the reason i ask is i have just been to hinckley to buy a car for my wife and the man had an irish terrier he said it had taken him two years to get him as he wanted a working type for the farm,i must say even though im not a terrier person i would deffinatly make room for one these it was generally very energetic with a good coatand by the looks of it they have a high prey drive and could be quite a hard dog. BOLIO1 1,078
This is my old pal Nibsy with my Irish Terrier x greyhound / whippet Fly, and the first hare he ever saw less than a year old. This wee dog killed more hares than any dog I ever had and never missed a fox he got his mouth on. 30 years ago. Quote Link to post

YOKEL 2,234
there was a dog down here in the late 's owned by a mate of mine called "roach" irish terrier bred lurcher, looked like a battersea mutt, but worked like a good un, and in a straight line was nigh on unbeatable. remember him being entered into the lurcher racing at the old gamekeeper fair in ware, he stood there lined up with all these flashy looking saluki x's and collie types, me and my brother were telling this fella who was with us, "watch that little mutt take the piss out of this lot" he laughed like we were a couple of no nothing fools... i swear half of them dogs had'nt got off the start line as that ugly wee f****r crossed the finish! he produced some good little dogs as well. happy days... yokel.
