markha 99
Well I had my FAC arrive today, and in very quick time too 6.5 weeks from posting. So reading through it all is good, 223 for destruction of foxes plus zero blah blah and no mentoring conditions attached, plus 17HMR and 22RF. All good and happy, then I turn over to read through the rest and spot a glaring mistake: maximum qty to possess calibre qty calibre qty 223 150 22rf 1200 223 700 maximum to purchase at any one time calibre qty calibre qty 223 100 22rf 1000 223 500 So as you can see no 17HMR ammo stated! Doh, you would think with something as critical as ammunition quantities they would have got things right. Ah well cant do anything with it till Tuesday and I guess that I can go and buy rifles but cant get HMR ammo. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Oops, that's a stunner! Congrats on the ticket, and good luck getting the ammo issue sorted. Maybe they can issue a temporary permit of some kind to cover you while they reprint the FAC? Quote Link to post
gordy1 0
Got mine a few weeks ago and they missed of the "any other lawful quarry" condition that I asked for. I rang them up and took it down there and got it back in 2 days. Quote Link to post
danw 1,748
When they sent my ticket back a few years ago after a variation for a pistol they had put "the 357/38 slaughtering instrument may only be used for HUMAN destruction in the course of their duties as a gamekeeper" Quote Link to post
JonathanKent 16
I had exactley the same thing happen to me when I last sent my license back for a variation to change one of my .22 rifles for a .17HMR. It came back with all my rifles nicely listed out, turn it over and I had NO ammo at all! So frustrating as you know you have to send it back and the waiting begins again!! Sorry to hear its a total ain in the ar*e! Hopefully if you ring them up first before you send it it wont take too long to get it back. ATB Jonno Quote Link to post
