dont keep running dogs myself, so dont shoot me down!! but i do admire the bullx

having read a thread a bit back, some lad was on about doing a 1st x breeding and was advised instead to get a halfx pup out of tried and tested lines...

this got me wondering why, quality of bull?, maybe or percentage of workers out of litter?

like i say i dont keep running dogs, so to you bullx lads, just out of interest... how have you found 1stx tobe as workers as apposed to second and third gen halfx

know what im trying to say, hope it makes sense..

yes im with you dances, maybe im been unclear... guess what im getting at, are 2nd and 3rd gen litters throwing better stamp pups with more pups consistantly making it as workers than the 1stx litters....?

or when you've got a second gen half x bitch who is getting on and you want a predecesser off her but still want to keep the same percentages then you would have to stick another half cross over her to get that, money doesnt drive all us dog lads

Tis not just a bullx question, it's the same for all crosses, call it hybrid vigour..........the 2nd generation will always be superior to either parent

Or at least that's what i've always been led to believe and it came from several different knowlegable people who's opinion i've always trusted

thanks for the replies..... seems a daft question now, thinking about it, like CHIMP says... you wouldnt keep 3/4 gens of crap!!!!!

so would you lads take a well bred 3rd gen halfx over a well bred 1st cross?
