I have said this on here before; if your serious about crossing a greyhound with a Poodle, then why not instead use one of the working poodle types that are in Europe. There are some very hard workin

I believe this has come up a few times, Usually just breed from KC stuff for the £££. Their originally a french wildfowler's dog (hence the tight, warm, waterproof coat) so find a working one in Euro

I have a miniature poodle 14" tts that is a demon little ratter & turning into a good busher, she has high prey drive and intelligence and i'm turning her from a lap warmer into a hunting partner

doesn';t the poodle help for people who are allergic to dogs, im sure that was the orginal reason for the labrdoodle to create guide dogs for the blind who were alergic to dogs, so i guess the guys who relly want to hunt with lurchers but them, there partener or thier childeren are allergic they might be willing to give one a chance

The original Labradoodle was created for blind allergic people to have a guide dog but they gave up the breeding as only 25% of pups were non-moulting and you can only tell who will shed or not once they reach aprox 9 months old and lose thier puppy coats. Even though guide dogs gave up due to the low non-shedding factor with the breeding the puppy farmers latched on with high prices and untrue claims that they don't shed hair.

There are very few non shedding breeds so if you really need a guarentee of this factor then only buy one of that breed.

If i ever wanted to breed/trial a poodle X for hunting then it would not be with any intention of producing non-shedding coats/hypo-allergenic dogs but i would try the poodle blood if i felt it added something in the way of working ability to the dog i produced.

They're are some pluses and minuses to this cross, 2 of my ex bosses had poodles and the thing that bothered me the most was there temperaments, one boss had two very big males that were very aggressive with both humans and other dogs, you may laugh but 70 or 80 lbs X 2 , 27 inch tts are big dogs, the other boss had a smaller female but it had an odd temperament also it also had Addison's syndrome, another lady I know comes to the kennels for tripe for her young poodle that has dietary problems, I know the female poodle quite regularly catches rabbits, so there's plenty of prey drive, like it's been said not the worse cross in the world but when there's so many tried and tested bloodlines and breeds why would you bother, I'd never knock anyone for doing what they want , but I would keep the litter to a minimum and make sure you could get some people to commit to taking one [bANNED TEXT] breeding
