leegreen 2,195
They are great, I seen one and when it lost it's footing, it just bounced up again. The man said that's why they use the cross, to create a sort of protective coat, like bouncey body armer. yc. Quote Link to post

bullmastiff 615
I believe this has come up a few times, Usually just breed from KC stuff for the £££. Their originally a french wildfowler's dog (hence the tight, warm, waterproof coat) so find a working one in Europe and I'm sure it'd be fine. The Belgiuns used them for guard dogs at one point too I believe so should in theory have some drive about them and be trainable. I think crossed to a Grey, they would catch stuff but I guess they'd be quite specialist, being a large, heavy, runner. Apart from the coat, I can't see what else a Poodle would bring to a lurcher that they haven't already got? You'd have more chance of finding a working Curly Coated Retriever in this country than a working Poodle. JMO 1 Quote Link to post

If i remember correctly it was typp who bred a litter of this breeding, does anyone know how they turned out,ie,reasonable working dogs or the worlds largest lap dogs..? Quote Link to post
cúagusgiorraí 57
I have said this on here before; if your serious about crossing a greyhound with a Poodle, then why not instead use one of the working poodle types that are in Europe. There are some very hard working breeds, like the Schafpudel, Pudelpointer, Barbet, Irish Water Spaniel, etc. Why use a shitty inbred KC bred puffball? If you want workers, breed from workers Edited May 27, 2011 by cúagusgiorraà 4 Quote Link to post
