Iv had and bred Whippets for 30 years and although they do have their short falls eg ,not so hot on deep plough long thick grass reeds some crops, they also have many good points so much so that I have always got one. I could never see myself without one.I run sal xs from good lines but sometimes a very good whippet will do things that make you wonder if you need a bigger sort.

if the topic title was pure whippet vs 3/4 whippet 1/4 grey,,,,,,,,,,,,,i would say 3/4 whippt 1/4 greyhound,,,but that just my oppion,,,,depends what u want them to do

but as topic says whippet vs whippet cross,,,,,,,i dont have answer for ,,,,as how long is a peice off string,,,????? as whippet crosses could mean anything,,,,and u get good and bad in pure or crossing out

on here u hear alot about pure,s,,,,,and 1st crosses,,,,whip / greys

i think the 3/4 whip 1/4 grey never get the mention it deserves,,,,,,one either there not mentioned as there no good,,,,i find that hard to belive,,,as in all my familys life there proved to be very very vestile dogs,,,,,they just dont go for the money as a pure or 1st cross go for,,, as pll,s are more intrest in pure, or 1st cross,,,,or plls are soo happy with them,,,,,they dont need a mention?????? who knows,,,,,,but iam still to come across a shitee 3/4 whip 1/4 grey,,,,,loll racing or hunting,,,,,not showing as they aint as bonny as 1st cross or pure whippet lol

who ever told you whippets have bad feet are talking complete shite they have better feet then most lurchers yes some whippets do suffer from having fine skin and coats but not all whippets.a good whippet is a hard dog 2 beat at rabbiting for any cross.

Got to agree with that, I can't remember ever seeing a whippet with bad feet. And you'd get more runs in a given amount of time, as they recover quicker after a run than any other type of running dog I've seen. And I wouldn't worry about the fact that they don't have the thickest coat/skin, barbed wire will rip any dog, regardless of the amount of coat it has, if it hits it with enough speed, and have yet to see one not enter cover to make a catch. Also seen lurchers of all types look less than happy in bad wind/rain, not just whippets. I think whippets are great and very underrated

Got a ped. whippet dog about 19.5 inches tall. Loads of prey drive, only lightly lamped so far .Doesnt seam to have any problems with feet or stamina .When exercised with my lurchers still running about and chasing after couple of hours. Hes out of a Banatay dog im pleased with him so far.

A breeder of racing whippets once told me that the only suspect feet she had in any of her dogs were the ones with racing greyhound blood. She said that racing and coursing whippets and coursing greyhounds had to have good feet due to the variety of surfaces they run on whereas this wasn't necessarily true of racing greyhounds. It isn't that racing greyhounds don't have good feet, simply that they don't have to have feet as good as the others; in HER opinion.
