Just watched the video again to refresh my memory and imo i think he is deliberately walking slow with his hands in his pockets to hinder the police. Deserved a push.....unfortunately he died!!

What of the fella was your uncle, brother or father...would it still just be unfortunate that he died! ???

A good decision hopefully he will be found guilty and have to do a good stretch inside. The Police are supposed to enforce and uphold the law, not make it up as they go along then try and brush it und

the police are not above the law,I wouldnt get away with what he did and im not claiming to be protect the public.   he should be dealt with harsher than if it was any member of the public.

They sign up for the job and get payed for it - they are not some kind of volunteer heros. They know what they can and can't do when they sign up. If they cross the line, they have to deal with the co

I've witnessed some pretty f****d up stuff that police have done in riots / protests, and most of the time it's not because they are 'scared, on the front lines protecting the innocent etc', it's because they relish the chance to use their batons and shields and roar and charge and play at being soldiers.

Course they do, they are only human......I remeber as a twenty year old kid, we were all trying to get a job on the security at Newbury by pass to get a crack at Swampy and his rent-a-crowd of leftys........it seemed like the way forward at the time

I have spent enough time in that shithouse called London to see the underbelly and the hostel dwellers......imho, we should gas 80% of them!

Myself I think, seeing some of the things they do and dealing with some of the people they have to deal with, our police (and armed forces) are very proffesional and show more restraint than I think I could.

I know what you are saying mate, but i have seen plenty of incidents when the police are ridiculously heavy handed. Remember during the G8 watching them run folk down with the horses, and smashed in the teeth with batons, whos only 'crime' was that they had come out to have a look see and got cut off in the police cordon. I'm talking wee girls and ordinary folk, not crusty angry hippys.

And lets face it, most of the time our police force deal with some pretty average shit, it's not all some kind of 70's cop show.

Yip.......i would then have a more personal view of that matter but i'm trying to look at it as an outsider at the minute. Anyone saying that he should serve a jail sentence better hope they never get into a fight or even push someone over in a heated debate...if the worst happens and that person died do you think you should serve a jail sentence?

well said mate, as for the bit about the shit they have to deal with , yes they have lots of it, but they know what they are getting in to before they join, and can leave anytime they want, our troops have more shit to deal with day in day out!

Likewise when a man turns up at a riot he knows what he is getting into and has to accept police are going to be a touch more rough than normal and rightly so..........if you dont accept that dont go to a riot or be anywhere in the vicinity of one.

but the man was on his way home from work! i don't know if he sould of went round it or what!

Theirs no mistake in hitting a man then pushing him to the floor , as for he was walking slowly well theirs no law on how fast you need to walk !

I simply walk round people who are walking slow, the police could see he was not gonna do anything to them, he had his back to them and was walking a way!

if he had being running at them and they had pushed him back and he fell then later died i think alot of people could understand!

I can see where your coming from but lets be honest here this was hardly a heated debate never mind a ruck, this was a innocent fella who was going home after his work who was showing no aggression aswell as obviously taking no part in any riots with his back to the police, the guy is now dead because of the lack of discipline and neglect to serve the public...personally i find it quite scary with a tinge of sadness considering a innocent man never came home to his family that day.

Yes i agree that its sad that a man lost his life that day....but it wasn't ment to happen. It was an accident. The push wasn't but the outcome was.

If the officer gets a jail sentance then where do they go from there.......Is he getting a jail sentence for excessive force or because the man died. Because if he goes to prison for excessive force then theres hundreds of incidents every year which would have to be looked at alot more closely. I think if i was in the police i'd just leave the force in the fear i stepped slightly out of line and had a possible chance of going to prison........a police officer in prison.. :icon_eek: good luck!!!!

Think ideation got it spot on what he wrote on previous page. They know what job they doing they want to do it and get paid for it. It's ok saying he was a Pisshead etc butlook how some people view us that hunt? Are they not there to PROTECT And SERVE ? Fair enough he was walking slow but he was walking away with his back turned but if he was charging at the police and that then tough tittys you put yourself in that position but he was walking away. But saying that I can't stand 80/90% of police so I may have a biased view

Lab. . . . your making it sound like he gave the guy a slight shove and he tripped and banged his head.

It was a bit more than that . . . .

FFS he hit him on the leg and he pushed him....its clear to see. Lets not pretend he dragged him up an alley way and kicked f**k out of him.... :icon_eek:

Call me old fashioned but id be much more forgiving of coppers who get stuck in and get it wrong than id be of coppers who dont get stuck in at all or plain freeze.....i made reference earlier to the Hillsborough disaster, that was literally hundreds of coppers who all got it wrong resulting in the deaths of 96 innocent and decent people.....that was police getting it wrong on a higher level than your regular bobby on the street.....yet it was brushed under the carpet...

This here is 1 copper who got it wrong with the death of 1 man at street level not higher up the plod chain..........accidents happen and always will happen.....its the stuff thats not an accident that needs attention.....the wrong man was in the wrong place at the wrong time....and didnt exactly look in a rush not to be there......nobody deserves to die for being a dick but if you involve yourself with coppers it aint always gonna go well.

Ok,i never thought about it like that...liking a drink makes it alright to being killed while going about your business in public causing no harm to no one by a policeman!! I agree its a stressfull and sometimes highlycharged job that they do but if they neglect and take advantage of their position that results in a INNOCENT! man's death they should be held acountable just like you or i in my opinion.
