Thanks for the comments, all good advice, I won't be feeding them again.

I am prepared to stand by my comments and will repeat them word for word.

I will post the outcome this evening. I meant what I said and happy to say so in court.

As mentioned Tara was no where near the horses.

As for the dog; even if it wasn't near the horses, it may well have still spooked them. As I posted earlier, you don't know what else has been going on there either.

It's easy for dog owners to forget that horse owners have similar feelings towards their animals. My wife loved hers more than the rest of us put together. Don't you think that the horse owner has just as much right to protect their 'family member' as you?

I think that you've had some good advice. Go and find the horse owner and eat some humble pie. Hopefully it'll all blow over and you wont end up behind bars.

R.Docks, do you truly belive he might get prison time for this daft episode ?

Even if he says what he has said in this thread, theres no chance of prison time

You can never tell. If you annoy the magistrates or catch them on a bad day anything is possible. I agree it's very unlikely though. Of course if the man in the 4X4 had threatened to kill you and your dog it would be an entirely different matter even if you just misheard him.

It was a 'tongue in cheek comment', but catch the courts on the wrong day and it could be considered a serious offence.

As for my (now former) wife; yes, she lived and breathed horses, and always put our animals first.

While I sympathise with the OP, I think that the horse owner was quite within his rights to have a go. How would you feel if someone had been letting their dog run around in a field with a valuable animal, and to add insult to injury, had been hand feeding the horses bread thereby risking colic?

There may have been alot more going on with other people, and they could have been at their wits end. OK, so they didn't handle it very well, but neither did the OP.

Jaw jaw is always better than war war....

why did you say feck all, words mean jack shit. The amount of times people have said to me , if i see you on here again or i will shoot that feckin dog, must have been loads of times. I just say ok mate, and just walk away. Because if any think did happen to me or my dogs, as they say action speaks louder than words, and what would follow i wouldnt put on a public forum
