deben mk2 /lost ferret

has any one had problems with the mk2 20/10 ft ? went out today put new batteries in the collar

checked it, all seemed fine worked a couple of small earths bolted a few so had a few in the bag.

i am bringing on a new bitch so thought id bolt a couple for the dog (went great caught two)

so im like a dog with two dicks!!

said to my boy that would do but on the way out he seen a nice earth and put his ferret to ground with the collar after about 10 mins thought bugger iv got a dig turned on the deben mk 2 finder bleep then feck all

i have noticed that the collar goes through batteries but after 2hours.

so iv now got the carry box with a rabbit leg tied inside facing the hole and blocked off the others hope she's there in the morning..

never had this with the mark 1

Never had one, but I think the general opinion is they shoudl have never left the Deben factory?

If the MK2 was any use at all WHY DID THE MK3 COME OUT SO SOON AFTERWARDS????????

just come back from the NFR day, and was talking bout the reason's mk2 wernt seen that much,

 

sorry to say the mk2 was the prototype for the mk3 they discovered all its faults and resolved them for the mk3

so Id say get shot of it,

the mk1 is still in use by loads (i myself) but after seeing the mk3 in action that will be on my "next to buy list"

i think deben should have recalled all mk2 's in they new there were faults thats why they brought out the mk3. maybe they'll bring a mk4 out aswell once they realise there's no need for the lights and stupid noise

no, they brought out the mk3 because the mk2 was only a prototype, but yes maybe they should have offered a free swap over service,

no they thouht the mk2 was the next step after the mk1 they knew it had faults but still they sold it . car manufactures call theyre cars in if theres a fault and deben should have done the same

thanks for the replies, went up this morning and 1 ferret in the box with collar !!

when i got home put another set of batts in the collar and all seemed to work fine

but i dont trust it now for dog or ferret

might look around for a mk1 or bite the bullet and buy a mk3
