Ideation 8,216
A lot of folk DO pay for shooting. Mostly folk living in cities / towns and having no contacts in the countryside. Biggest shitter is, when you get farmers who suddenly dont want to pay you, or let you shoot/hunt/remove their vermin for free, cos some city boy has come out and offered them a wedge of cash to do it, then do a lesser job, but the farmer is less bothered cos of the payment. :wallbash: :wallbash: Still, such is life. coldweld 65
If you join a Range/Target club you are only allowed to shoot on ranges plus IF you don't attend the club HAS to inform the police [ and they come knocking} If you lose your Closed ticket land YOU are in breach of your ticket { Unlawfully held weapons irrespective of how long is left on your ticket } Same go's for an OPEN ticket as you have to nominate Base land. Contact your FLO and explain he should help ! Eg give you time to find some land ! But ring him before he rings you. Either way your ticket will need ammending. Quote Link to post

moxy 617
You are not far off the mark there "the one". We have one piece of land which we have look after and have for way over 15 yrs, the land is about 1500+ acres, so room for everyone!(thats not an offer lol) About three years ago whilst mooching one night, we came across 3 pheasant pens recently erected. To our surprise the old boy farmer had taken a payout from a syndicate to run a pheasant shoot. We were out one night lamping and ended up getting lamped ourselves, quickly aproached by two upset wannabee "gamekeepers" with plenty of questions! Fair play, a lot of misunderstanding and miscommunication. They then proceded to demand that we contact them and gain consent when we were going on!! Needless to say this didnt happen and it has to date caused some upset. The point being, they are paying to be there and dont really want anybody else near, however the rabbits still need reducing which is not what they were doing. Nor are they having much of an impact on the rookerys or the local fox population which for the past two years we have been called in by the farmer to deal with, due to the loss of lambs. I hate to think what the mortality rate is for their birds!! Money can buy you permission but it wont gain you any respect if your not doing what your paying for The wannabees can keep their fecking birds and the hefty sum they are paying for the privelige. I will be fecked if im going to ask consent from them for a job they should be doing and even more so fecked if im going to pay for it! There is acres of land out there with land owners when gained their trust will welcome you to come and and shoot, provided you can produce the goods. This is one example of a few, most of which have been down to gamekeepers on tennant farms (telling tales and the tennant farmer not been sure as to what the estate rules are for obtaining the services of a rabbit controler). A couple have been lost for a little while to paying customers. We even share the odd permission wiith lads i have never met, plenty for everyone or they are not doing the job! Or is it us that are not doing the job Quote Link to post
Tomm Parr 30
If he actually does take it further you could be f****d. He holds all the aces and it's not worth just hoping that he's bluffing. Bite your lip and apologise, just do what you must to make it good. It's better to swallow your pride on this one i think. Quote Link to post
