inan 841
when the time came to run her hands over it and do that "paw bend"thing she always does To me bending the paw as you say to me is seeing how flexable the joint is, my personnal thing I allways flex the wrists of dogs when judging,it is a good indicator of any damage in that area, unruly dogs are a problem when judging I've been bitten several times."he doesn't usually do that," whilst trying to be diplomatic ,sometimes you just have to say ,"look your dog will not allow me to examine it, in fairness to you," [and to yourself], "get a refund and come back another time". watchman 256
when the time came to run her hands over it and do that "paw bend"thing she always does To me bending the paw as you say to me is seeing how flexable the joint is, my personnal thing fair enough but what about un-ruly dog behaviour i did say to him when i was judging it that he needed to get more control, his reply was it wasn't that old and was only over friendly, what do you say to people that think that, as you know you can't tell people or give advice if they won't take it in maybe you as a judge telling him he might have just taken it in, time will tell sure we will see it again in the future,a completly different dog perhaps, who knows and as for the paw bend, didnt mean nothing by it just makes me chuckle, small things and all that no offence taken, next time you see me, come and say hello no worries, two sugars in mine t with the judge whats all that about well if you can stick your show pony in why cant i show my worker no harm in getting to know the judges in person is there yes i believe asking him to remove the dog would have been the correct thing to do

boyo 1,398
when i judge on the odd occasion you do get a nervous dog its mostly nervous rather than nasty .i try to be patient and just get the dog to stay calm rather than running my hands all over it and making it worse just talking and smoothing it will sometimes calm it down. but if its that nervous/nasty it shouldnt really be in the ring because your just making the poor dog worse .imo

willow 53
watched some big shows YOU carnt put them as working shows like the ronny bull shows and a good few hunt shows because alot of the jugdes couldt work dogs and have no intention of working dogs so how can the jugde if they dont no what a working dog looks like and some of there antics lifting dogs up bending wrist they dont check the other spots on a dog to see if its in line so it can run
willow 53
so then bending the wrist is to see if they can run FOR WHAT if there never going to chase
