THANKS So the swelling is just her pid. I would say don't worry about it much, she should keep it clean. I for one usually burst small blisters, clean them and the area, to help it dry up. If it only looks like a blister. 1 Quote Link to post
skycat 6,173
It's just a mild bacterial infection:caused by contact with dirt etc. Don't worry about it, the blisters usually dry up within a couple of days. If you want you can always dab a bit of Savlon on them but don't put any strong disinfectants in such a delicate area. It's quite common with pups when they first start coming into contact with bacteria in the environment. Just make sure the diet is good: plenty of protein: a good quality puppy food if you are feeding dry, or a well balanced raw diet containing lots of different meats, and pureed or lightly steamed green vegetables: spinach is particularly good. 1 Quote Link to post

romany52 313
Seen that a few times in pups, the grazes you mention I think are in fact burst blisters. I would carefully burst it and apply a mild antiseptic, It's nothing to worry about. Mike. Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
Tinned food is (in my humble opinion) the worst type of food you can give a dog. They need to eat far more as it contains so much water, its full of additives and gives them nothing to chew on. Do a search on here for puppy food: plenty of people have lots of different opinions but IMO the best way is raw. 1 Quote Link to post
