Thought everyone would appreciate this one, I only remembered this last night (Apologies if I'm a bit vague, I have to be careful what I say).

A couple of years ago, I was working in the south of England. The task was to put a rural building under surveillance. The first option of getting there didn't work out, so we went to plan b... Walking up a river to get as close as we could to the target, then cutting across and making our way cross country.

It was about 3am in the middle of winter so as you can all imagine we were in a right state by the time we left the river :)

We ended up at this point in a hedgeline on the edge of a field, the target being only a few hundred meters away so we were being absolutely silent, when all of a sudden we heard voices from the other side of the field, and a lamp started sweeping the field. Bearing in mind that one of the guys was a real country boy and had been brought up shooting, longnetting, ferreting and the like all his life, and with me in a similar position, the penny never dropped (Idiots!!)

That was until rounds started cracking above our heads! They sounded like .22cf but we couldn't be sure. Anyway, fcuk the silence, we were out of there faster than a fat bird after a KFC!!

What we never understood was why were the rounds above us (2-3 meters)? Maybe they were shooting high and not realising it, although it was a bit too high for our liking!

Thought I'd share that with you all, we still laugh about it today. Atb, Dan.

Pleased to hear that mate can't stand the plod Utmost respect for those that serve in the armed forces though :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy::thumbs:

How can you differentiate? Plod face dangerous situations day in and day out to protect you, no matter how badly you treat them. They are one of the armed forces, but without the actual arms. You might "hate the plod" but trust me, if they went away overnight, you'd soon be moaning about the crime! :wallbash:

I live near a village were the plodded let a women get bullied for nearly thirty years until she was left with no dignity and no other choice to take hers and her daughters life.......

I my self was at the brunt of some anti social behaviour at the weekend, my car was attacked by pissed up youths who were home way before the plod turned up. I got a crime number a sleepless night and to repair my car.

I don't dislike them, something needs to change. and fast.........
