its funny that opening up has be brought up, i have 3 none of which open up, i have been out with running whippets and thier 2 whippets never opened up, i also go out with black whippet of rabbitrunner whippets and he has 3 bitches and a dog and they dont open up, i also know that black whippets has taken several people with pure kc whippets and they naver yap eigther, is it poss the dogs that yap are enetered to young.

 

the working whippet to me is more than caperable of punching above its wieght and many do and some on a regular basis. it just not broadcast

I stand corrected. Some, but not all whippets will yap when chasing. Mine does it out of frustration when she can't possibly catch her quarry. When she's right behind her quarry she's quiet. However, there's plenty of lurchers which also open up.
