Marksman 934
Got mine in a Police approved gun cabinet bolted to the wall inside a lockable cupboard. Good luck with your project! Darryl Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
As with Darryl. I have licensed FAC level air rifles as well as sub-12 ft/lbs rifles. So, I keep all of mine locked in a police-approved steel cabinet, bolted to a supporting wall in a secured, lockable room in my house. Sorry no pics. I don't have the I.T know-how, and I don't want my firearms security arrangements shown on a public forum anyway. Simon Quote Link to post
j j m 6,539
mine are kept in cases in the bedroom Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
as off febuary(i think ?) this year the laws changed on the storage of air guns. "reasonable precautions must be to taken to ensure they are safe and do not fall into the wrong hands" i.e.....cabinet....trigger lock......or simply locked in a cupboard good luck with your project..........be nice to see some pics Quote Link to post
markha 99
This new airgun security law is interesting as it states that you must ensure that its difficult for your air gun to be accessed by those under the age of 18. Im not sure if this means it applies to everyone or just those houses where people under the age of 18 live??? Quote Link to post

Im not sure if this means it applies to everyone or just those houses where people under the age of 18 live??? As I understand it Mark, it seems the measure is to keep our under-18 year old children and their mates from gaining easy, usupervised access to dads air rifles. There was a fatal accidental shooting here in West Yorkshire last year with a young lad who got hold of his dad's air rifle (AA S410 .22 I think it was) and shot his younger brother dead with it. This is what is to be prevented. The police are not insisting on FAC Firearm levels of security. Just a secure place where kids can't get access to them. Gunsafes are a good idea though, as there is always a chance of a burglar about. You never know. Simon Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
I keep mine in a locked cupboard with a cable lock through the trigger guards and locked to an 'eye' bolt on the wall. Ammo hidden away where my boys can't find it Quote Link to post
markha 99
Cheers Simon, thats what I thought, otherwise my FEO would be slapping me with a "you need another gun safe Mark" Quote Link to post
