blackandgreen 84
Hi, I have a great bushing / ratting terrier and I'm tempted to get a lurcher. Only problem is that I have no room for a kennel so the dog would have to live inside with my terrier. I've heard the term 'small lurcher' which sounds good. Would that be a cross such as a beddy whippet or a 'poachers pocket' that I have read about? Cheers Quote Link to post

rocky1 942
it all depends what yo mainly want it for ,whippet allways pops up,but i would get a lurcher based dog as they are a hardy breed takes lots of knocks and more stamina then any whippets Quote Link to post

And also i use her in worse places then the big lads when im ferreting like quarrys and tight woods etc and she can take as many knocks if not more than my big lurchers im not having a go man its just my oppinion i just dont like people running down the whippet bred lurchers a beddy x whippet is as much a lurcher as a colly x grey Quote Link to post
blackandgreen 84
Cheers for all the helpful comments Think I will settle for the beddy whippet later in the year Quote Link to post

Cleanspade 3,324
you can get some nice small lurchers from greyhound stock. if i wanted another small lurcher i would look for a beddy/greyhound. or collie greyhound. Bitches rarely top twenty three inches and would be much more versitile 1 Quote Link to post
