My current dogs have never even tasted commercial dog food. I used to feed the old Lab on tinned for a while but it made him squirt liquid shit out of his arse like it was under high pressure so only fed him that if I knew the wife was going to walk him

I keep a couple in to mix with kibble if i need it . . . . rarely use it but it does them no harm whatsoever as a one off.

Yeah - that's exactly what I'm on about - I bought 24 tins of Butcher's Tripe Loaf 6 months ago and have used 7 tins. Emergency standby only.

Feed 80% raw. I feed tinned about once per week, usually when i forget to defrost but other times too. Also Dry food now and then cooked and scraps etc. I do with all my dogs from being small pups.

My reasoning is....they never get used to one type of food alone, which leads to upset stomachs, diarrhoea etc if for some reason i have to change or they scavenge food.

Never used it always prefered b.a.r.f diet with veg added twice a week i know what they are getting then alot of produced stuff has a low meat content and only use animal derivitives

That's a point. I bought a tin on Xmas day as I was at the inlaws and took the dogs as we were going to be there a long time. I forgot to bring dog food so went the corner shop and bought a tin. I threw it in the bin when the ingredients said 4% meat. They had turkey like the rest of us instead.

i gave it to my old dog in his last few days just to try to get some think in to him as he went of his food, he had 2 or 3 cans then went off that but that was the 1st time in 20 years of keeping dogs that i have ever opened one and the fxxking stink knocked me sick and that was the pedigree chum so good knows [bANNED TEXT] the cheap stuff stinks like  not only that but the cost of it and you have got a can to get rid of. if i forget to get the meat out then its a can of fish for my dog.
