lloyd-holmes 15
alryt folks , been thinking for a while now about getting a terrier , it will be worked and on a regular basis . i want a dog that will bolt for the lurchers or bay so obviously dont want something too hard ! ....anyway a red lakeland dog pup has come along aparently from working parents and i maybe goin to have a look this weekend , however if it turns out that its parents do not work then i wont be having the pup , my purpose of this thread was to ask the lads "in the know how" is the lakeland the ideal terrier for this job or on average would the breed be too hard ? obviously every dog is different and some will be harder than other but im talking as a breed in general? thanks alot for taking the time to read this . .terrier man. 193
lakelands were bred to kill foxes mate, most lakelands iv seen smash foxes, but you never no ask how the parents work, if i was you id go for a different breed for what you want, a small type russell maybe Quote Link to post
busterbuster1969 313
If you go for a Lakeland you will be digging more than your bolting. As Terrier man said, a russell may suit you better but saying that ive seen some russells that are just as hard as Lakelands.. Good luck in your search whatever you decide Quote Link to post
rabbit slayer 22
Ive seen hard russles and dug over them. But i think a good small russle would suit you better for just bolting foxes mate. Not to mention the heavy price tag the lakelands are fetching. ATB Quote Link to post
