bird 9,873
how hard would it be to bring on 2 pups from the same litter, in my litter there is 2 pups i really got my eye on and to be honest would nt mint keeping them both to bring on, what is the expected troubles with 2 pups etc thanks well it can be very hard, because to get the best from each pup, you will have to at sometime take them out on there own.Even if kennelled not together, they can play up . And what can happen they might not bond to you but each other. I did it once and it didnt work out, sold the one pup. The pup left Bryn came on Brill, so for me 1 pup at a time. Tod my pup is 9 months old, Bryn is 4 in sep thats about right gap for 2 dogs i think 1 Quote Link to post

iceman001979 1,316
Kept two back myself year half ago a dog and a bitch but sold the dog on just too hard bringing on both so it was and brought the bitch thought her 1st year there then got another pup to bring on this year. Dont get me wrong if you have the time and money for both then go for it but as said above you need bring them out one at a time at times and the other one will scream the place down Quote Link to post
MINNIE 4
i would rather put 100 percent into one pup and have a good one, rather than give 50 percent to 2 pups and have mediocers. atb minnie. 1 Quote Link to post

Dan Outdoors 13
theres been a few decent articles in the countrymans weekly not that long ago about bringing two pups on together, might be worth seeing if you can trace a copy of a mate or summin, get the impresion you have to train them sepparately a fair bit in the beggining else they dont know who they are if you know what i mean, think it probably comes down to time and effort, best of luck if you choose to take it on.. Guest joball
I am raising two. I would recomend kenneling them seperate so they dont get pendent on each other, make sure you spend 1 on 1 time atleast 4 5 days a week, plenty of patience coz it is prity stressfull and aint easy. But tbh 1 is enough i wouldnt recomend bringingon two unless you realy have to tbh. Quote Link to post

mystiko 17
Running two pups on together is not easy cos you tend to end up favouring one slightly more than the other so when you start taking them out lamping or ferreting you tend to leave one at home as you have the older dog with you also and the one left at home can bark the place down which isnt great with the neighbours. If you have loads of time to give two pups try it but what you will end up doing is moving one on at say 9-11 months, which is fine as long as you find a sensible good home.....A,T,B, Quote Link to post
