Anybody know of some decent round mouths that are smaller than the bulldogs or B & F ones? They are good and i use them just could do with something a bit less wider

ARMY ROUND MOUTHS ARE OK NOT A LOTA CASH HAD A FEW OVER THE YEARS LOT OF THE OLDER ONES MADE BY SPEAR AND JACKSON REGARDS DABBER

both of these came from a army supplies, they were only around a £5 or so apiece, the bigger one is on the heavy side thou, they do a smaller one then these where the shaft is shorter, there only ok if you havnt dug wider enough on deeper digs :icon_redface:, i dont use these much as i had some made up and if you lived closer you could of had them pal, atb

Stay away from wooden handles and cheap shit get a proper one like a bulldog and it won't let u down. The very best tool in my diggin kit is a post hole digger, u can get em from screwfix or wickes. I bought one after reading darcy's book and don't know how we managed without it.

grafters are what get you down, couldnt do with out them, like matey said above, speak to the council lads or the water board :whistling:

The mattock is cut down and welded to a scaffolding bar head for weight.

A Stainless handle fits inside to give it the correct balance.

The Bulldog Shovel handle is also split in the centre.

The taper of the handle is a tight fit in the collar.

Both joints are clamped with a square cup head bolt.

Thats why the hole is square, it stops the bolt head from turning.

An acorn nut protects the threads when digging.

The tie-out bar has a quick clip attached to a bar with a screw type washer at the bottom.

This is virtually impossible to pull out once it has been screwed in.

I spray painted the lot with a black coloured rust inhibitor.

Plugged the end of the pipes with wood to prevent earth clogging there.

A local guy made the 2 piece kit, I told him what I generally had in mind and let him to work the rest out.

There will be a similar bloke in every area, just ask around and you will find him.

The T-bar is 16mm 304 stainless round bar.

I have never seen a 2 piece t-bar but would be interested if someone could do it.
