clabby 14 Posted May 19, 2011 Report Share Posted May 19, 2011 went out fishing for pike yesterday after recently moving to nottingham i got to the ponds about 1pm pissing down with rain set up 2 rods one floating a sardine tail about 3ft deep and the other fixed to the bottom after about 25 mins the first rod screemed off landed a nice early summer jack of about 8lb as i put another sardine tail on the float set up i heard a bloke shouting and tehre was no one near him so i thought he is probs just pissed or some thing after about a hour he come over asked what i was fishing for. he said that here are a few pike taking the fish as he is is bringing them in so he helped drag my gear over to ware he was fishing chucked out my float set up about 15yrds out near to the blokes float and soon enuff off goes the float after 10 minits of fighting with the pike and bulling it out of weeds and snaggs got the fat girl in got her on the scales she was 21.9oz. took the big girl down the other end of the pond and let her go and changed my leger rig and stuck a big mepz spinner on and had jack after jack all in all i had 7 fish in just over 4 hours smallest being about 3oz was gutted i dint have my camera as the fat girl was my pb. RIVERS/LAKES yea i pike fish as much as i can threw the winter down soutth i used to fish the yeo and the parret and chew valley this year now in in notts i cant wait to get my grubby little mits on the river trent and the canal but the lakes i fishing are fine for now they have some good fish in there soon be time for floating crust on the top for the carp and barbel on the trent not all bad.
