chilly 59
Just got in from a good walk with the dogs , now the pup every time she goes in the car she shits and is sick think it is nerves doesn't seem to like the car much but hoping she will settle down . I met up with a friend for a walk haven't been out wit him since I had the pup , but he has a dog de bordo (spelling) any way she is big but vary playful not in the slightest bit aggressive but like a bull running around , well the pup was petrified of her she was running up to the pup to play and she was crying like she was hurt and a ridge of hair right down her back was standing on end, I suppose it's to be expected as she is a big dog , after half hour or so my mates dog started to slow down and the pup started to settle down and started to wonder around with her a little but still a little wary What I'm wondering is could experiences like this do damage to the pups mind and make her more inclined to be timid and and frightened of things , as if it will we won't go out with my mate till the pup is older At no point tho did the other dog hurt her and I think that was y she started to settle down , and I'm thinking that if she is going to be frightened of big dogs introducing her to ones I now I can trust like this one today may help ? My pup was the same when I started taking her out about 3 weeks ago, fxcked off with fright a couple of times when she seen a big dog coming towards her, had me freaked incase something happened to her, shes much better now though, still submissive but doesn,t run away, I,m sure you,ll pup will be fine, walk her places where there are other dogs and build her confidence Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
WIth the car, build it up slow. Go sit in the car with her not moving. Then just drive a fey yards etc and then take a short drive and give her a good walk and play etc. Hopefully she will start to understand that it isnt that bad. My current dog hated the car at first but is now ok for most journeys, but is still usually sick at least once. Quote Link to post
chilly 59
To be honest the thing with my mates dog really took me by surprise as my air dale is really big 2 and she torchers her lol , at the beginning of the walk while she was really freaked out wee seen a little fluffy dog and she was scared of that 2 then , she has met loads of dogs over the last few weeks and been confident with all , like I said tho she did start to settle at the end and was trotting around with it then but only I think cos it had stoped galloping around still keeping one eye on it tho lol I'm hoping it will be a good experience for her and not bad , learn that there is nothing to be frightened of As for the car I hope she gets used to it soon the car stinks of shite lol Quote Link to post

JimBoo 1
my dog lives with a pomarainian its a little shit bag its bitten her everyday for the past week but a few days ago its started to calm down now she plays with his toys now and they will go within a foot of each other and he wnt growl at her, but its been his territory for 3 years so its understandable i give it another week and they will be cuddling up, she's still a bit timmed around him but she's come along way in the space of a week 1 Quote Link to post
