adammubu 0
Hi all. i've got a dilemna. I've just been on the phone with the vets about a jill jab. First of all, they wanted 35 quid for it. Secondly, they said that the jill jab should be done before she goes into season. and that it is not likely to work now she is in season. So, now im faced with the problem of having to get her out of season one way or another, i dont have a vasectomised hob which i would prefer. And i dont want to spend 35 quid if its not going to work. Any advice or suggestions? Adam. Quote Link to post

lksopener 105
I suggest you change your vets as they clearly don't have a scooby do! They can be jabbed while in season no problem, mine were last year without a problem. In terms of cost the jabs at my vets are about £10 each but then they charge a consultation fee so it comes in at £40 total. I have read on here some getting it at about a fiver a jab so I will be shopping round next year. Liam Quote Link to post

Liam i know this aint the same but i jab my lurcher bitch once a month to stop her seasons but it cost me 35pound for the year for a bottle of it sure vet would be using simalar/same the dog as 1ml a month dont now what ferret would need but seems a costly vet you have but you do have to use it before season starts Edited May 18, 2011 by samba Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
As has been said the VAST MAJORITY of people if not all, jab their jills when they see them starting to come into season, or a bit after they are in. Your vet is expensive and doesn't know much about ferrets at all, just like a lot of vets. The problem is, why do they not say something like 'I'm not sure i will look it up" rather than just making up some complete rubbish. Seems like it's a vet thing. 1 Quote Link to post
