undisputed 1,664
So much for the Tories being tough on crime. Latest brainwave is to give rapists shorter sentences if they plead guilty. Ken Clarke having his finger firmly on the pulse has suggested there should be different categories of rape.. You couldn't make it up.

scalesntails 118
Labour are making a big deal out of this but judges have done it for years anyway. Waste their time get a higher sentence. I don't agree with it. Problem with it is if you are innocent you shouldn't ever be encouraged to plead guilty for a lighter sentence. They should just say rape = 10 years minimum and falsely accusing someone also = 10 years minimum.
mackay 3,426
Not just the tories mate, they're all the same, remember labour, tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime, my arse. The average pleb on the streets (us) safety and welfare is of no great interest to them. Go and defraud the taxman and see if you get a reduced sentence for a guilty plea. scothunter 12,609
i certainly dont agree with any leinency towards crimes like this.never trust the tories shower of scum.the pleading guilty is a good thing for lesser crimes and it does not hold the courts up and cost vast fortunes in legal aid.however as i said sex crimes should not be in that equation.jmo
