Phantom 631
Forget the 1000 fps in this country unless you have an FAC, its not going to happen. A pellet weighing 7.4 grain travelling at 1000 FPS would put it at about 16.5 ft/lbs Tony Ps Welcome to the forum Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
You won't get that gun in this country capable of putting any pellets out at 1000 fps What will happen is that either the spring will be cut down or replaced when it either gets here or before its shipped over to the UK. Most guns will give good results with Air Arms Fields These in .177 weigh in at about 8.4grains and to give 11.5 ft/lbs at the Muzzle will require a speed of 785.1 feet per seconds to get it to the max legal limit then the pellet needs to hit 801.9 feet per second. Differing pellet weights and BC's etc require a different speed to get to the same 12ft/lbs sooooo. It is a very VERY good idea not to have a gun that runs more than 11.50 ft/lbs as with a springer a lighter pellet will increase the energy, with a PCP a heavier one does the same. Phantom 631
Have a wander down your local shooting shop and ask to look at a variety of models, see which one feels good to you Then have a look for a second user one of that model. £120 you will be very lucky to find a new gun at that range. The EB model 55 is a reasonable gun but the trigger is fair to crap. Another advantage of going second user route is that the gun will already be run/bedded in and smoother than one new out the box Tony Quote Link to post
