Thanks for your replies, the reason I ask if it was mistle or song, it was huge, the biggest thrush I've ever seen, attached is a photo of a thrush in the same place the previous winter, cheers Bob.

Definately a mistle thrush. They are larger and more heavily spotted than the song thrush. That's what i reckon anyway. their song is totally different to, sounds like a spokey-dokey in your bmx wheel when you were a kid!

I think the redwing always has a white line on the eye. THat is useful for id if they are young and you can't see the red wing yet. :thumbs:
