Hes only a young lad new to the hunting game.Thlpatrick no such thing as a pure lurcher theyre all cross breeds lol.For example whippets are pure breeds whippetx collie for eg is a lurcher which is not a purebreed cos its a cross between 2 breeds

thank god for that! finally someone explained people always say yeah ive got a lurcher and i just assumed it was a breed never actually looked into them! so yeh i ment pure bread lines didnt realise they all crosses!

some of the powell's bullxwhippet's look good little rabbit dogs, not quite sure % of them, but look tough little dogs thatcan handle few knocks. The salukixgreyx bullxgrey seem a good x for most quarry pre ban, never had that x, only straight bullxgreys which have always done what i want .

If for some reason I had to get a bullx solely for rabbits then I would imagine a bull x whippet would fit the bill better. I would 31/32 whippet 1/32 bull :whistling: I would imagine 3/4 whippet 1/4 bull would be ok though.

not having a go here patrick, but it's not that long ago you were posting on how to train your 3 yr old whippet for rabbits, now your on about getting another dog, running before you can walk springs to mind

I was agreeing with you that bull/whippet would be better than bull grey. If he has a whippet already then as you say a first cross would be good as he can bang out some tidy 3/4 pups once his dogs have proven themselves. I personally don't think much will do better than his whippet for a bit of rabbiting though.

not once have i mentioned getting another dog have i, i said views, :s and the reason i do ask is the fact is

MY MUM WANTS ANOTHER DOG and i dont see why not get a dog id enjoy to walk rather than some horrible sh**ty chihuha, she's willing to get another whippet or lurcher, i just wanted opinions anyway also ive got a friend who is taking me on next season and has got good working dogs so
