The one 8,495
The easiest answer is that your ferrets no good ,unless they have been poached over night Quote Link to post

terrierxhound 26
has your ferret got a nose cos if he has it doesnt work get yourself a decent ferret and a good marking dog. Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Sounds like your ferret has jacked, ie doe protecting her young and your ferret couldnt get it to shift. Either that or your ferret has missed all the important stop ends, or simply had the good old run around. If the rabbits are there as you have stated it has to be one of the forementioned excuses Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
EIther - Average ferret that can't handle it with spring sticky bunnys. Or No one is home, because they were out feeding. Quote Link to post

moxy 617
This is some of the punishment one of my lads take, but he does make them shift Providing the rabbits are at home of course Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Must say ferreting this time of year usually means a lot of this Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Yes mate, always got to stick my oar in. I was ferreting friday and the same, my jill got them out without any digs, but had three decent kick marks on her face. Quote Link to post

Only thing is i can see her being a killer as she learns the tricks, she's very 'hard' at the moment and nearly every rabbit comes out with very obvious contact having been made. We shall see in the coming season, but if she keeps it up, i can see her making the same grade as her mother. Quote Link to post

moxy 617
Very smart Mine all look a little funny at the moment as they are nursing and have their summer coats, i will post a pic when im not pestering them. I did have a jill, sadly she died last year. If you put her down you were digging!! She would bolt rabbits but was too fast for the kill. Well fed before an outing and she would still kill down the hole. Bonus was she found all the stop ends. My young un wanted to enter the jill at the local game fair in the ferret racing, which we did to please her. The jill wouldnt entertain any of it. No scent, no racing , seemed embarasing at the time but fills me with pride when i look back. Will be hard to replace. Quote Link to post
