atomo 19
ye mate you can but as most people who own ferrets would say use a smoker its easier, by all means use a ferret but expect them to get hurt because no matter what they will always get hurt also most ferrets that do rats dont live as long as the ones that dont it takes it out of them , me myself i would use a smoker but every man to themselfs. expect injurys and maybe deaths if you do use ferrets goodluck atomo Quote Link to post

Can I ask how many ferrets have died on you through being used on rats? Myself I've never had one die from bolting rat in over 50yrs of ferreting odd nicks yes cant deny that,oh and the other much used scenario of doe's protecting youngsters I've never dug and found a ferret confronting a doe defending her young or know of anyone else that has seen it either and I've asked several times over the years on here with nil replies Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
marty42 18
i wouldnt do ratting with my ferrets.a rat will do its best to bolt, but if it gets cornerd it will fight back and can do harm to your ferret.if you are going to ferret rats you would be better of to use a strong buck Quote Link to post
atomo 19
ive never dung down to a ferret contfronting a doe yet again i never said i did but i have witnessed dead ferrets , theres a place round here called the showcase and the rats there a huge never in my years with ferrets have i seen any as big , ive never had a ferret of mine die as i dont use them on rats as ive said but a couple of lads i no have had a couple of jills die from doing rats so yeno it does happen, most of the ferrets die after theyve got them home because of nasty injurys therefore being killed by a rat so dont try and kid the fella his ferrets will only get marked up because there worst can happen , just use a smoke Edited May 16, 2011 by atomo Quote Link to post
