Get a tick puller mate, to pull the odd one off safely.

 

For a load, get frontline spray, put some rubber gloves on and spray them with it, and then massage it into the ferrets coat, they should all fall off in a day or so.

First time ive seen one of them used,handy bit of kit that.

 

Best tick removers on the market.. and you get two in the packet, one for nymphs and one for the big ticks.. only £3 - £5.. best £5 ive spent

cheap on ebay just search for o tom tick saw some for about £3.25

+1 for the autom /otom. It is the ONLY thing to use when removing ticks,, don`t be tempted to try tweezers or nail clippers etc,, to high a chance of causing a problem.

 

Frontline also works great, again steer clear of any old wives tales cures, fags ,vasaline etc. If done incorrectly, trying to remove a tick can cause a few hassles,, leaving the head on (infection), causing the tick to emty back into the host (infection) etc,,

Never had a tick on the ferrets ever but get the odd one on the lurcher and spaniel

The ticks are out in force again this year. Probably got 2 or 3 in a year on the dogs but last year they had atleast 10 each....there are alot of deer around this way and the weather has definately had a helping hand....

As been said spray the little feckers with Frontline......they'll be black by the next day and they just crumble off......

Worst i had was a could feel something like a spot on my chin, in my beard. Was scratching it for a while, then realized it was a fecking tick. At the time didn't and couldnt get a tick puller, so dug the f****r out with a wee knife and a needle, made a right hole as i was paranoid about leaving anything in my face.

Check out the Bada website re Ticks these are a serious health hazard to humans as Lymes disease is alife threatening disease and can lead to serious heart problems or other major problems you can also get tick pullers from Bada and the profits go to the charity.

Lab - where'd you get that old photo mate? Must have been 17 there, before i grew the beard.

 

They can also carry Tick bourn encephalitis , horrible shit. But not in this country i dont think.
