welshnutter69 78
ive learnt from my mistakes, sticking to who i know rather than what i know now stick to breedings done from genuine dog men that i know and work with... i cant go far wrong then i have heard plenty of good stuff about the wheaten terrier, hence giving the breed a shot..i had 2 end up with duff lines...well bred wheaten/greyhound are rated just as good as a bull/greyhound Quote Link to post

lurcher330 2,301
the problem with a lot of the wheaten's out there now is that a lot were bred for show with softer coats and a lack of prey drive just good for parading around a ring and the thought of putting them into a hole never crosses their owner's mind but there are a few good lines left out there but the influx of bull in the breed has destoryed some of the good worker aswell as with wheatens there are pit bulls a d pet bulls.dog fighting is not a game i would be into but even with the bull crosses if ye want to breed them use dogs from fighting pedigree and you have a better chance of producing a litter that would be worth while Quote Link to post
Blue one 89
Had one back in the late 's, 3/4 greyhound 1/4 wheaten. It was ok, till it yapped, would yap for Ireland. I have also had a irish terrier cross and that yapped too. I find, anything with terrier in its make up, yaps! Seen a couple of wheatens too big for squeezing into tight spots in a fox den too.! The Jack russels i know did a far better job finding the fox ect. Just my experience on the cross and breed of terrier. Edited May 13, 2011 by Blue one Quote Link to post

I also had a 3/4 grey 1/4 irish terrier, bred by someone totally different, that also yapped! Got put off by the terrier crosses then, but as ye say, they might of not been a good terrier. I have also seen, a whippet x bedlington, that yapped like feck, 2 years ago in meath.! Don't think the lad that had her, keept her for too long.! Edited May 13, 2011 by Blue one Quote Link to post
