stubby 175
sounds like red mite, normally associated with chickens/pigeons etc, does anyone near you keep these as pets in garden, or have you been feeding the above to your ferts, they hide in the cracks of woodwork in daytime and come out at night (blood suckers) shows how important it is to keep cages clean before litters arrive, but do not try spraying anything now, as you could harm the kitts, simply go out with a torch after dark, catch them on wood and squish with your thumb Quote Link to post
DogMagic 461
Google dietomacious earth mate and get some of it. Its kills insects by desication (dryes them out), so no active ingredients or chemicals. Its just a fine powder. It wont hurt thr kits. Puff some into the cage and nest box but not directly onto the kits and afterwards keep the cage dry. Quote Link to post

DogMagic 461
I dont think you did anything wrong mate, you were just unlucky. Do you even know where they came from? Weve all bought straw for our ferrets nesting and weve all chucked a woody in for them to eat. The neighbours could keep chickens, pigeons etc. Red mite can come from any of those sources and others. The good thing is you spotted it youve done something about it. Quote Link to post
Sorley x 32
Dont stress, they will pick up bits and bobs as they go through life, my lot had an outbreak of fleas after being clear of them for three years. Spot on soon sorted that lot out. dietomacious earth is the business too. Quote Link to post
