HAHAHAHA.........Makes me chuckle when on the one hand you see folks constantly moaning about scum and immigrants then slate a group of folk who actually had the iron will to do something about what t

Aye, we invented the concentration camp.   Half the folk moaning on here about this guy would be at the front of the que if Britain decided to form it's own version of the 'SS' to help us through

Most of the Nazis claimed to be 'following orders'....   Murder is murder. I for one am glad to see Justice done, no matter how long it has taken, or how old the murderer is.   Lets not get into

If you discovered that your grandfather had done some fairly nasty shit in the war, maybe shit a bunch of civilians for some reason, and he told you, would you report him?

(For the folk taking the moral high ground)

Serious question?

The honest answer is no , but if he was caught anyway he,d deserve what he got . Because most nationalities have been guilty of atrocities in the past dosn,t EVER make it excusable . p.s my grandad was an old cnt and I wouldn,t put something like that past him .ATB

That's the thing mate, it's very easy and black and white, until you start to add the human element.

Slightly off topic, but one of the things that i always thought odd / interesting is the cultural phenomena, whereby nearly every male member of a world wide population, killed, died, or saw people kill / die up close, and then just 'went home' and got on with life after the war. So in your average wee welsh (or wherever) town, the police, firemen, butcher, baker, postman etc etc etc had all killed folk, and seen some f*****g horrible stuff that they just then had to forget and move on.

I'm sure plenty forgot some pretty horrible stuff they did / saw, and 50 years later it probably seems like a horrible f****d up dream to the guy.

So if everyone is guilty who can take the moral high ground and pass judgement?

Its a crazy world when they feel the need to bang up a old man of 91 for crimes commited near on 70 years ago. weather he enjoyed it we'll never know but the guy for sure would be taking orders from people alot higher than him! he was a soldier and his job was to do what he was told.

plenty of other atrocites gone on in the wars before and after we never hear about, there's also plenty the world turn a blind eye to like old Mugabe........

So shouldn,t war criminals be punished ? and how long after the crime does it cease to matter ?

i would say when most have the world have forgiven and those responsible are either dead or just about it.does no good dwelling on the past.like i said where does it stop.f**k if the british were to be called to rights for all the attrocities we have commited many many years ago we would be pennyless.

How do you define a war criminal though? That's the thing, how involved at what level do you have to be? And who's going to make sure the yanks don't write every civilian shot as a 'necessary casualty of war' rather than a war crime, just because they are fighting the 'good fight'.

I mean we go balls to the wall to get the folk who bomb a couple of busses or drop 2 towers, but the yanks have done a lot of similar stuff, and they just let it go. And the Russians.

And those guilty in the Bosnian conflict, the yanks purposely did not put any effort into pursuing them.

The list goes on.

You cant just bang up some random old man and say there you go its a just world we live in.
