danw 1,748
Had this conversation the other night with a mate I just don't see why folks kill fox etc "out of season" when their is no financial motivation they hide behind the ideal of vermin control but that is bullshit an animal is only vermin when it becomes a nuisance or represents a potential threat to livelihood yet people still kill fox all year round on arable land with no game interest's I think some lads need to take a long hard look at themselves and ask if they are really sportsmen. 2 Quote Link to post
trenchfoot 4,243
This vixen is mooching around our fields at the moment, less than 100 yards from the chicken runs. They are well fenced in, electric wire and all. the collie keeps rowing at it. it if becomes a problem then the lurchers get to see it off. Its got young on, so I will let it be and enjoy the sights for what they are. It is happily feeding on voles (she has a mouthful of them in this photo), easier meat than trying to break into stalagluft! Quote Link to post

marty42 18
people over the road from me have hens.they locks them up at night and they never have any problems with foxes.they have a few pet terriers aswell.if you have your hens in a well build place they should be safe.no need ta kill the cubs.if i was a farmer i would prob kill every fox around, because they do alot a damage to the farmers.but the most of us are not farmers so alot of us would like to see the wildlife in the summer.if everyone was out killing cubs and young grazers we would have hardly noting to hunt come next season.last week i brought me dogs for a short walk down the fields.me lurcher came back with a little grazer in hes mouth.the size a the thing,i let it go and put it back down the burrow.the moral of the story is theres no sport in killing cubs or little grazers.if farmers are having problems with foxes on there land they should get rid of them, them selfs or pay someone to get rid of the foxes Quote Link to post
