lurchergrrl 1,441
This website is offering vouchers honoured at vets around the country for dogs (cats, rabbits and birds) who are overdue on vaccines. So now there's no excuse not to get it done. http://www.nvmonline.co.uk/pet-selection

lurchergrrl 1,441
Yep, sure they have. And there's still plenty who haven't for one reason or another - sometimes it helps remind people if it's free

chook1 184
Its not free either - you pay the cost of a booster, all's they do is give you a discount.
lurchergrrl 1,441
My vet's fee jabs isn't much more than what the voucher covers Chook. Voucher covers two visits/£30 and I've never paid more than that for jabs. I don't booster every year, but I do for Lepto. Lots of folks who care about their dogs don't booster every year - and I know plenty who don't bother at all, even when they're pups. I know a lot of folks on here buy their jabs from other sources, but if you ask me a lot of times those vax aren't safe. So, if someone has been putting it off for one reason or another, now all they have to do is print the voucher and have it done for nothing, or next to it. Hopefully the link will be useful to someone. Every little helps, as they say.
scothunter 12,609
My last lurcher bitch was jagged as a pup and was never near a vet again.she died last year aged 16 years.boosters are just a con,and depending who you speak to can actually be depremental to your dogs health.it messes with the immune system those boosters. lurchergrrl 1,441
Mostly I agree with you Scot, but parvo is a serious business. A pup that's never been jabbed and grown into adulthood is at serious risk. Lepto needs boostering yearly far as I know - especially if you're out playing with rats I don't do a full booster every year, like I said. I do a full lot when they're little and that's it, unless I need to kennel them somewhere. Plenty of folks who don't jab them at all tho, and they should do.
chook1 184
The cost you pay is the normal price of a booster - insted of the full price of puppy jabs so it depends on the vets, my vets charge 37 for booster and 50 odd for the full lot, with the voucher the vet will do the full puppy jabs, i had layla restarted useing this as she never recived her full puppy jabs, and its been over 2 years since she had her jabs so it cost me 37 quid insted of the full price. blan89 159
good for a dog thats been bought or is of unknown background,i'd never let a strange dog come into my kennels unless i was sure it at least had the initial jabs.
