MikeTheDog 153
Give them as much space as you can, feed them proper food and handle them as often as possible. Do a bit of research on Google and get some books from the library. Have fun.. 1 Quote Link to post

The one 8,503
A run or out running about the garden etc you cant expect them to stay cooped up in a hutch till September then be fit enough for a days ferreting Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,632
you can make a ferret wheele,, bit like a big hamster wheele,, and they will youse it also i think some cages are to small my presant court is 8 foot long 4 foot wide,,, and is 4 foot high,,, i think the hight is important,,my ferrets climb right up to the top all the time then slide back down,, wich keeps the nials down, they also jump of a board on to the wire,, al good stuff for keeping them fit Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
I've made part of my garden ferret proof so leave them running round the garden for a couple of hours a day. Also take them out with the dog a couple of times a week, I just go to a big open field so I can see if any other dogs are approaching and just let them run around in the long grass and dig a bit. As long as your ferrets are used to you they won't stray far and are easy enough to catch anyway. I've found having more than one ferret helps keep them fit, even though mine are kept in the same hutch as soon as I let them out in the garden they go mental and start play fighting and jumping about all over the place, I could sit and watch them do that for hours! Having pipes for them to run in and out of helps aswell....and my get a couple of watering cans, every ferret I've ever owned has been obsessed with going in an out of watering cans for some reason, they love em!
