first aid kits

im just wondering what you guys have got in yourfirst aid kits as im looking to buy one. my dog has ripped his bottom lip and was looking to buy skin glue but cant seem to find the stuff anywere, hope you can help and if anyone knows anygood places to get a decent first aid kit or some glue then that will be much appreciated

yes i think that will do for open heart surgury in the field :laugh: on a serouis note a good kit

youve probaly got most of the suff in your home first aid box, bandages tape sissors ect,,

skinstaples are essential mate they will save you a fortune,

get some vet wrap is good to for damaged stoppers ect,,

warm salt water is as good as anything for cleaning cuts,

just found out recently about something called "cut and heal " this really speeds up the healing of bites.

basically the same but i take a stapler instead of glue, purple spray, ibuprofen,paracetemol but i dont take a needle and thread

Good long list of things to take, some I wouldn't bother with and most we all hope never to use. One very important item to take with you when ever you take the dog out.....mobile phone with at least two good vet numbers and also their emergency number..Imo more important than most things on that list.

 

And if you are planning on stitching, stapling or gluing out in the field what about sterilised water to flush the wound with!...I'd hate to think all you budding seamstress's would stitch a dirty wound.

thats what hibiscrub is used for... good enough for cleaning humans prior to operations good enough for the dog ...

 

half of the stuff i have on my list i wouldnt take out BUT the lad didnt ask about first aid kits for the field he just asked whats in your first aid kit and i answeared ...
