How old is he mate? a nice old stamp of a middleton Lakey

Nice one mate he's just over 2 1/2 now he had a decent season just gone but he is really only just getting started i gave him about 15 digs but next season should really show his worth he knows the crack now so roll on september

Did you breed the dog? If not where did you get him from?

i got him off a mate of mine that got him and a bitch bitch pup from the same litter from a lad in co Carlow the bitch was a nasty b###tard in the pen and was constantly fighting with him so he kept her and gave me him but the bitch never worked out

Did the lad in co Carlow breed them or did he buy them from someone in england?

Out of Middleton lines a working Lakey bitch

black dog & just hunt, spot on comments, known middleton for near 30 years, show man and dealer, simple as that, had the white lakeys and made massive amount of money from them, all bred from none

Has anyone got a contact number for Gary Middleton - there seems to be alot of "people" (not lads) out there supposedly selling Middleon strain dogs.

I would prefer to go direct to the man himself or a reliable alternative source for the real thing!

Can anyone help?

Cheers, Mark (07940 449130)

Working Lakelands are few and far between in modern ages. There are lads on here that keep there own line of working lakeland and fair play to them but if you go to a show in Eire you will find that there is more Lakelands being showed at shows than any other breed and there is no doubt the majority of these dogs have never been dug too. The lads that have them will talk about GM Lines and how there dogs are bred but they've spent more time with the Hairdryer over the top of them than in the ground with lads digging over the top of them. Shame too see as they use to be a very useful worker and done things as well as any other breeds.

black dog & just hunt, spot on comments, known middleton for near 30 years, show man and dealer, simple as that, had the white lakeys and made massive amount of money from them, all bred from none workers (gravel!!!) Him and Ken!! also with the women Vanda, Borders!! Show people, and has beens that talk of lines from 40 plus years ago, how much proper digging was done 40 years ago in the lakes, wasnt many if any badgers there in this era, so I am told!!!The Badger being the ultimate test when the sport was legal!! Never hear of this work, not that it is relevant in this day and age!

have seen over 15 or so terriers off him ( liverpool and lakes areas), all the same, show stoppers due to the pedigree and welsh blood he put in, ask the question why did he do this!!!! MONEY! Also going back to the terriers I have had the displeasure of seeing in the field, all givers and cant take punnisment, all what I call bully type terriers, al right giving but when going gets tough thye jib!!! Some have worked and been very hard for first 5 to 10 digs, then quit, the rest were end of the dig dogs, no bottle or natural working instinct. Cant judge all but there is a clear pattern!

It is also of my opinion if lads have had them from middleton some 20 years or so ago and have worked and bred down from this stock it is now your line, not middlton, you take the praise as only for you it would have gone down the same road as the rest of the terriers he has had through his kennels that he has ruined the blood and working instincts!!

Again all depends on your work!!!!

Looking forward to replies!!

good on yu [bANNED TEXT] and best off luck , BUT middelton was and IS a show man , so no matter how good yours or anybody elses dog (or bitch) out off this line was would you or anyone else be happy to breed to NONE workers ? when i say none workers i dont mean the odd one now and again that might have been dug to a few times over a season but terriers and there previous generations that have been dug to regularly , not once twice or 20 times a season but regular consistent graft which is what i doubt NONE off these types can take .there to fiery and look good at the start but then quit like the bullys they are? say im out offr order if you want but i speak as i find and none off this line now or then were proper digging dogs that can take continuous graft which makes a proper WORKING terrier which these days are few and VERY far between , this is only my opinion so please dont jump on me im just a nobody in the terrier world but im still entilted to an opinion
